General Enrollment Information

When can my child begin school at the Butterfly House?

Our Primary program serves children ages 3-6 (children must be 3 years of age and fully potty trained)

Our Lower Elementary program serves Kinder - 3rd grade (according to the state of Oregon's definition.)(Please reach out with questions about age/grade level)

What programs do you offer?

Primary: 830am-1200pm  Mon-Fri (early drop off option)

Our highly trained Preschool teachers provide individualized attention to each child using authentic, hands-on Montessori materials to teach reading, mathematics, science, geography and more. The gentle and respectful Montessori approach allows for children to build skills in Order, Coordination, Concentration, and Independence (OCCI). With a focus on Peace Education, our teachers gently guide the children to establish awareness, kindness and compassion within their community. Each program provides weekly activities in Art and STEM to give the children opportunities to engage their senses, practice critical thinking, promote creativity, and express emotion.

Lower Elementary: 800am-300pm

Our Lower Elementary classroom runs 5-days a week from 8am-3pm, following the school district calendar. Our Elementary program teaches academic subjects using authentic hands-on Montessori materials with individualized attention for each student. History and culture study awaken during the elementary years through the Montessori Cosmic education curriculum. Our Elementary teacher brings world study to life through costume play, interactive history lessons and Japanese language immersion. At this level the children connect with their community through local field trips, group social studies projects, and practical life applications of the character qualities we promote.

What is the cost of attendance?
You can find our current rates here. A 10% sibling discount is offered to families who enroll 2 or more children.

Are there additional fees I should be aware of?
We require a one-time enrollment fee of $100 to secure your spot and complete administrative duties, as well as a $200 materials fee to help cover costs of updated materials, classoom projects, consumable materials, as well as seasonal projects, events and experiences.

Can you tell me more about your scholarship program?
Our scholarship program is designed to support families that want their children to attend the Butterfly House, but that would not be able to without financial assistance. Scholarships are granted as a percentage of annual tuition and typically fall within the 5-20% range. Please contact us to see what our scholarship program looks like this year. A scholarship application can be submitted in conjunction with an enrollment application after completing a program tour.
